India is entering a new digital era — and it starts with the first identity of life: your birth certificate.
From August 2025, the Government of India is rolling out the Digital Birth Certificate system nationwide. This means no more waiting at municipal offices, chasing signatures, or worrying about lost paper documents.
Whether you’re a new parent, an adult applying for services, or simply updating your ID records — here’s everything you need to know about this new digital system, how it works, and how to apply online.
What is the Digital Birth Certificate?
