If you’re a farmer waiting for financial assistance, the PM-Kisan scheme is designed to support your agricultural journey. Through this initiative, the government provides ₹6,000 per year, split into three installments, directly into your bank account.
The 20th installment is now approaching, and you should be ready. With the correct documents and updates, you can receive the ₹2,000 payment on time. This article guides you through the installment date, eligibility, status check, and more.
PM Kisan 20th Installment Date
The 20th installment of PM-Kisan will be released on August 2, 2025. On this day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially transfer the installment amount to eligible farmers across India during an event in Varanasi.
If you’re among the registered beneficiaries, you can expect ₹2,000 to be credited directly into your bank account. Nearly 9.7 crore farmers are expected to benefit from this latest installment release.
Make sure your e-KYC is completed and your bank account is Aadhaar-linked. Without these steps, you may miss out on receiving the 20th installment despite being eligible under the scheme.
Eligibility for PM-Kisan
To receive the benefit, you must be a land-owning farmer. If you don’t have your name in the land ownership records, you won’t qualify for the scheme, even if you’re actively involved in farming.
Also, if you pay income tax or belong to an excluded professional category like doctors, engineers, or government employees, you’re not eligible. Your land records must be updated in your local revenue department’s database.
Importance of e-KYC
You must complete your e-KYC before the installment release. This is mandatory, and without it, your name will not be included in the beneficiary list—even if you qualified earlier.
e-KYC can be completed using the PM-Kisan website via OTP or by visiting a CSC center for biometric verification. Face authentication through the mobile app is another convenient option for completing e-KYC at home.
Steps to Check Your PM-Kisan Status
To check if your name is included for the 20th installment, visit the official website pmkisan.gov.in. Head to the ‘Farmers Corner’, and select ‘Beneficiary Status’ from the menu.
Enter your registration number, Aadhaar number, or mobile number and click ‘Get Data’. Your name, payment status, and installment history will be displayed on the screen for verification.
What to Do if You Don’t Receive Payment
If you don’t receive the ₹2,000 on the announced date, don’t panic. First, check your status online using the beneficiary portal. Make sure your bank details and Aadhaar information are correct.
If all your details are correct but still no payment is received, visit your nearest Agriculture Office or Common Service Centre. They can assist you in correcting errors or updating your documents.
Documents Required to Receive the Installment
Make sure you have a valid Aadhaar card linked with your bank account. Your land ownership documents should be updated and registered with the local tehsildar or patwari.
You also need your mobile number linked with Aadhaar for OTP verification during e-KYC. Keep your bank passbook handy in case you need to check the credit status with your bank branch.
What Happens After the 20th Installment
Once the 20th installment is released, the government will begin preparations for the next cycle. You must keep your e-KYC and Farmer ID ready for the 21st installment, which may introduce stricter requirements.
In future updates, the Farmer ID could become mandatory. If you don’t generate it in time, you might lose eligibility. Stay alert for official announcements on the PM-Kisan portal and local agriculture departments.
